All DiscoverEU travellers get a free European Youth Card

Every year, thousands of 18-year-olds embark on the journey of their lifetime to discover Europe by train through DiscoverEU, and the European Youth Card goes with them!

Once selected, with an Interrail pass in their hands and the benefits of the European Youth Card, young people can explore Europe's diversity, learn about its cultural heritage and history, and connect with people from all over the continent.

The EYC, allows them to make the most of their adventure, unlocking discounts for cultural visits, learning activities, sports, local transportation, accommodation, and meals.The EYC is available to all travellers on the "DiscoverEU Travel App" developed exclusively for programme participants.

The card is activated automatically, and is valid for one year starting when the user creates an account in the app. For more detailed information, visit our FAQ.

About DiscoverEU 

DiscoverEU is an action of the Erasmus+ programme that gives 18-year-olds the opportunity to discover Europe through learning experiences. Travelling predominantly by rail (there are exceptions to allow those living on islands or in remote areas), they are given the opportunity to discover Europe's stunning landscapes and its variety of cities and towns. Every year, there are two application rounds. Successful applicants are awarded a travel pass and a free EYC. Only 18-year-olds who are residents of the European Union or of one of the third countries associated with the Erasmus+ Programme can apply to the programme.For more information on the DiscoverEU Programme, click here
